Governor Croswell High Tea Served All Day

Worthy of the Duchess of Bedford, we serve four assorted finger sandwiches with two petite quiche, followed by two homemade scones accompanied by Devonshire cream, our own lemon curd or select preserves, and finish with your choice of two miniature tarts. Complete with a personal pot of tea!

Savory Selections

The Tavern Sandwich

Crusty Parmesan bread is warm and stacked with your choice of Black Forest ham, smoked turkey breast or roast beef and served with a cup of our homemade, seasonal soup, a crispy dill pickle and honey mustard or horseradish creme on the side.

The Manchester Melt

A puff pastry square is filled with your choice of tuna salad, egg salad, smoked turkey breast, Black Forest ham, or roast beef and Swiss or cheddar cheese. It’s popped into a hot oven until the cheese melts and we serve it with a cup of our homemade, seasonal soup, a crispy dill pickle and honey mustard or horseradish creme on the side.

The Ploughman’s Lunch

The British farmer’s midday feast in the fields. A generous chunk of aged Scottish white cheddar, a boiled egg, a pickled onion, a hunk of warm crusty bread, dill butter, a crispy dill pickle, and a cup of our homemade, seasonal soup.

Hearty Fare

Shepherd’s Pie

Our own version of the classic meat pie from northern Great Britain is made with ground round, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and topped with whipped potatoes.

The Wellington

We think Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington would approve of our take on the classic! Sirloin tips and vegetables are simmered in rich beef gravy and topped with a buttery puff pastry crust.

Chicken Pot Pie

Chicken, potatoes, carrots, and peas are braised in an herbed velout and then served inside a flaky pastry crust.

The Madame Croswell

A generous slice of our homemade quiche is graciously served with a warm cheddar muffin and your choice of a cup of our homemade soup.

The Little Lady High Tea

Fit for a little princess; two triangle-shaped tea sandwiches of your choice, heart shaped cheese with butterfly crackers, a whipped cream topped fruit cup, followed by a scone with preserves, a mini tart for dessert. and a beverage served in a china teapot (choice of white or chocolate milk, apple juice).

The Wee Folk

Four triangle-shaped tea sandwiches; your choice of strawberry cream cheese, peanut butter and/or jelly, Served with applesauce, goldfish crackers, and animal crackers. Beverage included (choice of white or chocolate milk, apple juice, or soft drink served in a china teapot).

English Custard Bread Pudding

Prepared in the grand old British tradition: Torn bread, sugar, eggs, vanilla, dried fruit, nuts and baked to perfection. Served hot and topped with English custard, nutmeg and whipped cream.

Victorian Sponge Cake

A light, airy sponge cake with raspberry filling then draped in our own lemon curd and dusted with confectioners sugar

MacDuff Shortbread

No common cookie this! A delicate treat spun of butter, sugar, and a wee bit o’ Scots magic. Four fingers.

Lemon Tart

A homemade flaky pastry tart shell filled with our own famous lemon curd, topped with whipped cream and nutmeg.

Chocolate Tart

A chocolate lover’s delight; an imported dark chocolate shell filled with homemade chocolate mousse, topped with grated chocolate, and finished with a rolled wafer and mint cookie

Mini Tart Plate

A delicious variety of four of our dainty miniature tarts. Individual mini tarts also available

Scones

Long a British tea-time favorite, the scone is a feather light sweet biscuit. We serve ours warm with traditional imported Devonshire cream and lemon curd or preserves

Brownie Bottom Turtle Sundae

A rich, warm homemade brownie under a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and topped with caramel and toasted pecans.

Ayrshire Cream

This elegant dessert bears the name of the beloved Scottish poet Robert Burn's birthplace. A favorite at our other tearoom, Sweet Afton Tea Room, in Plymouth Michigan A light, yet wonderfully rich custard served with a raspberry coulis topping.
